Frogs have always held a special charm for me. Seeing one in nature still makes me smile, but my affection for them goes back to childhood. I had two beloved fabric toy frogs named Petri and Petra.

Perhaps it was a sign — because in adulthood, I ended up sharing my life with a man named Petri. Maybe the stories about frog princes contain a grain of truth.

This led me to paint a frog portrait for the Imagiarium series: Petri the Frog. My partner's birthday was approaching, so the timing felt perfect.

Petri the Frog (2025) is inspired by my partner. His headpiece includes guitars and brass picks — things that matter to him. The frog's colours come from his black‑and‑yellow checkered shirt, and the graffiti background reflects his interest in graffiti art.

Could this be a meaningful gift idea? A playful, feel‑good portrait designed to be personal and unique, shaped by someone's hobbies and interests.
